Janet Bar Rembaum is a certified teacher and member of The Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (STAT) UK.
Janet is an actress and has a performing background in theatre, music and dance. While studying the violin in Glasgow, she had her first Alexander lessons with Vivien Mackie, an Alexander teacher and cellist who had studied with Pablo Casals. On moving to Israel, she trained at the Alexander Training School in Tel Aviv with Shaike Hermalin and Zeev Tadmor, who were both trained by Patrick MacDonald, one of the first generation of teachers qualified by Alexander. In London she studied further with Margaret Goldie who worked closely with Alexander for many years, and with Walter Carrington at The Constructive Teaching Centre.
Janet has given private lessons and introductory workshops in London at the Bloomsbury Alexander Centre and the Mary Ward Centre, as well as workshops in Scotland, Israel, Greece and Argentina. She has worked with musicians, actors, dancers, people from finance, advertising and the film world, athletes, and many others.
Janet is a graduate of Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (Royal Conservatoire of Scotland), Guildhall School of Music and Drama London and Nissan Nattiv Acting Studio in Tel Aviv.
